Merry Christmas 2025

merry christmas 2025

Merry Christmas 2025 to all my readers. I thought it was time to get back “on the air” one more time this year.

Sorry that I have not been posting very often, recently. Being a full-time care giver takes a lot out of me, emotionally and physically. Plus, I am getting older (approaching 75) and perhaps slowing down. As my mother used to say, my get up and go has got up and left. Hi!

Over the past year my making and radio activities have slowed down, with one exception. I have spent my time writing SDR software for my personal use. More on that shortly.

As I look back over the past ten years, I am amazed by all the things I did and wrote about. It sure helped pass the time during retirement, and continuous learning kept me young.

Our family is doing well and we enjoy spending time with kids and grandchildren, who are growing up so fast. Life in Calgary is good, despite all of the issues our country continues to face.

Merry Christmas 2025 – Radio Software

My software project this year is focused on making scheduled recordings of dual-channel I/Q data for later playback and analysis. My program includes a scheduler and recorder. This one project let’s me combine my two interests of writing software in Delphi, and playing with my radios and loop array.

I will write some articles about these efforts next year.

So, Merry Christmas 2025 and all the best for 2026. I hope you and your families are doing well, and always enjoy hearing from you.

Merry Christmas to you and your family, John! I’ll look forward to reading more about your programming of dual channel IQ SDRs. We’re now just scratching the surface on doing this with existing SDRs and software, and yet, it’ll be the future of cleaning up those channels with multiple stations co-channel, or those with adjacent splatter!
